Will We Say Goodbye To Leopard Print?

We all know leopard print has had everyone in a choke hold since the start of 2024 but is it here to stay? Can it become timeless? I’m not 100% sure it can.

Leopard Print is everywhere right now, even my mum who doesn’t buy new clothes ever has a bought some leopard print in recent months. It’s a stylish staple that everyone seems to have in their wardrobe right now and everyone is still obsessed with it.

However, Leopard print is starting to feel like the long distant cousin of the dreaded 2020 cow print.  I vividly remember everyone and their mum buying cow print everything during lockdown, even I had a cow print bag and I normally stere clear of the crowd when choosing what to wear and accessorise with. Like Leopard print does right now cow print had the exact same grip on us so if that died out and we all look back on our “cow print era” as cringe why wouldn’t Leopard print die out too.

Cow print vs Leopard print

When I think of leopard print, I think of classy fur coats worn buy untouchable rich women, leopard print feels classier than cow print ever did. Cow print was fun, silly and new, something needed coming out of lockdown to stay hopeful and remember to not take life for granted and to have a bit of fun in the way you dress. Four years on from that with clean girl aesthetic still looming leopard print feels like the right choice in patterns to re-emerge. Leopard print feels to me like it’s always been around just in little flashes. When everyone was trying to dress Y2K in 2021/22, we saw hints of it then. It just seems different to cow print and that’s why I think it might stay.

However, I don’t think it will stay trending in the way we are wearing it now. Everyone seems to have a pair of leopard print trousers, and these will most definitely be seen in on Vinted very soon. So, when it comes to bold displays of leopard print, I fear it will definitely die out.

So will it become Timeless?

Do not fear leopard print lovers I don’t think it will die out completely I have a sneaky feeling that it will become timeless just not in the way that you think. I think we will see it stay through subtlety. So instead of massive displays of leopard print like jeans for example, everyone will be wearing a pop of it. For example, shoes, bags and any accessory really. I even sore the coolest leopard print nails the other day so subtle shows of leopard print will be timeless. When you think about it they always have been.

But remember if you love bold pieces of leopard print then where it, fashion is what you make it!!!
